Canon Fashion Revolution

Today, photography is not only used by professionals, but also the normal people wanting to document their everyday lives. To me, as a blogger, it's necessary to learn the important factors when using a camera. I don't want to be too technical, though. :D

Last week, Canon Marketing, Inc. celebrated the 2nd Manila Photo festival in SM Aura last October 02, 2015. In tandem with famous photographers and Canon Crusaders of Light members, Ibarra Deri, Wesley Villarica, and Sara Black, the leading imaging and printing solutions provider demonstrated how fashion photography is brought to a new light with its diverse portfolio of lenses, accessories, and printers.

Talks and live shoot took place during the event. There was a Shoot Out between topnotch photographers Wesley Villarica and Sara Black. Ibarra Deri shared his expertise in lighting and portrait photography and I definitely took notes from this part. Canon printers were also present and some are given away to have the consumers bring home momentos of their fashion shots.

There was also an auction of Canon products at the lowest prices. Plus, the participant with the oldest Canon camera was rewarded with a new one. Camera lovers were really all over the place, I swear! 


Canon loyalists enjoyed treats and deals in Canon’s exclusive sale. They enjoyed P10,000 worth of rebate on select cameras and lenses while cameras were also on sale up to 70% off. The sale will continue from Oct 2-4 and 9-11 as the Canon booth extends its presence at the Samsung Hall Foyer, SM Aura.

Ford’s Design Grant Asks Fashion Students to Think ‘Eco-Fashion’, this opportunity by Ford Motor Company offers three fashion students living in Asia or Europe with US$1,000 each and an access to use Ford sustainable materials to create high-fashion designs. How? Continue reading. :)

With this, students can use a selection of Ford fabrics that are sourced from recycled plastic bottles used to create car seats that urges students to think of inventive to showcase runway-ready designs that have minimal environmental impact. Challenging yet, fun!


It's not only about giving these young designers a great opportunity to showcase their creativity using Ford's sustainable fabric, this grant also raises awareness on the importance of sustainability in design. This will show how innovative they are in experimenting alternative fabrics as what Ford Motor Company does to their cars by using eco-friendly materials.

I'm very much confident that we have a lot of great Filipino designers and this will be the best platform to showcase your talents. I myself is a huge fan of anything that's involved in saving the environment (and fashion!) so I'm glad that Ford have this program.


This will be the first time the Ford Design Grant will be launched in our country so I'm really excited to see the creativity of Filipino designers. Application is now open at www.digitalsnippets.ford.com/fordgrant and will end on November 30, 2015.


Ford will continue its partnership with Redress – an established NGO dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability in the fashion industry – to host the Ford Design Challenge at the 2016 EcoChic Design Award competition. At the Ford Design Challenge, 10 emerging designers will use Ford seat fabrics to create innovative ensembles. The winning outfits from the challenge will be showcased on the runway at Hong Kong Fashion Week as part of the EcoChic Design Award’s fashion show.

That's how I'm feeling lately. I've been drowned with too much work the past few weeks and now I'm juggling everything and crossing out all the work that needs to be done one by one. L'Occitane x Pierre Herme

Bali, Indonesia (Part 1)

One night last August, Sheri, my childhood best friend who's already living in Sydney randomly sent me a message "Do you want to go to Bali next month?". Yes of course I want to go to Bali! But next month already?! Uhm, let that register to me first. Then the next thing I knew I was booking a ticket for eight days in Bali. My mantra in life, if we're close you'll know this, it's "I'm game!". Yup that's me! So here's my first decent (more like, tolerable) travel post. 

Honestly, if I were to describe Bali in three words before seeing the island for myself  I would say "Colorful. Beaches. Culture." and I was utterly, definitely right. We stayed in Sense Hotel (will blog about it on my next posts) situated in Seminyak for the first three days. 


First things first, food! After checking in we went straight to a local restaurant nearby that serves Balinese food, too bad I forgot what it's called but i loved it. There's chicken, beans and everything spicy. Food there is cheap, you can spend at least 35,000 RPH (120php) to 60,000 RPH (200php) for one meal.


Here are few of the stores that you can see in every corner of Seminyak. Everything is too artsy and colorful for my life. From shops to cafes and restaurants... rainbow feels.






70% of my stay in the island resolutes for the beach. That's the rule, or more like, everyone's choice by heart. So here I am taking too much photographs before actually enjoying Indian Ocean. :p

We spent one of our afternoons in Potato Head Beach Club, this place is a must visit, ideally in the afternoon until sunset. The atmosphere including the music is too much for me to take in. 


On our second day, we spent the whole day exploring Ubud. If Seminyak is relaxing, I can tell that Ubud is much more pacifying. Eat Pray Love vibes.

Shopping in Bali is one of my favorite stories to tell. So if you're going to shop there, you have to practice intense bargaining. When I say intense, you seriously need to lower the price that they tell you up to 150% off or might as well try walking away, they will follow you for at least five minutes then end up asking how much you're willing to pay for that item. For example, I want a dress that's worth 100,000 RPH, with all those skills, I ended up paying 30,000 RPH for that dress. Crazy!

Uniqlo's New Fleece Concept

Few days ago, Uniqlo revealed their latest fleece outerwear lineup for the Fall/ Winter 2015 that includes high fashion coats and windproof jackets. This is perfect for our current weather.



I ended up getting a men's jacket because I wanted a longer one. The men's line was expanded now that they have a range of windproof fleece. Let me test it haha.



Meanwhile, in the women's section, there are four new types of coats with different silhouettes- the teddy, fluffy, pile and windproof fleece coat that's perfect for any setting. 



The Uniqlo Fall-Winter 2015 features an expanded lineup of styles incorporating fleece made from special fibers that harnesses the sun's energy, providing a greater inner warmth. Just so you know, Uniqlo first launched fleece in 1994 and remained the symbol of their LifeWear concept.

Bulgari Omnia Paraiba

Bulgari Omnia in Amethyst has been my signature scent for years. That's why when they finally revealed their fourth chapter in their Omnia collection, I got really excited. 

A scent between the tropics and Mediterranean, presents the new Omnia Paraiba. I would describe it as a fruity and fresh fragrance that differs from the first three chapters. The Paraiba Tourmaline is an unusual gem that symbolizes spectacular wealth that's found in Brazil.


Master perfumer Alberto Morillas focused on passion flower scent, inspired by Brazilian jungle, beaches and ocean. Curacao accord, lime, pear and passion fruit open the composition and lead to the floral heart of passion fruit and Brazilian gardenia. The base notes include vetiver and cocoa.

Kiehls Superskin Sesh

At this point of my life, I'm still in the process of searching for the perfect skin regimen that I could keep for a long time. I've tried several brands for the past years and it seemed like my skin has this hobby of rejecting them. Knowing that Kiehls has been there for more than a century, it made me curious about what kept them in the industry for such time.

How to choose a perfect evening dress?

What makes my world wonderful? First I thought that it was an easy question... But I was wrong. In a good way. I realized that I have a lot of things and people that makes up my world of wonder. Oh well, thanks to www.wonderful.ph I got to figure which ones are in my top list. So here, I'm sharing with you my Top 3, brace yourselves, they're unusual haha.





I know, I know.. You'd think that what's on my list would be clothes, shoes, makeups or at least anything girly. Nope haha, Although the beach is my default and  my ultimate first.

Kendrick Lamar

As far as everyone is concerned, I rap his songs along with the music of Bow Wow, Chris Brown, Jay Z. J. Cole and everything hip hop okay... To make it up, I also (always) listen to Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix, The 1975, Justin Bieber, Alina Baraz and everything that a typical girl listens to haha. Look at one of my playlists in Spotify!


Chicago Bulls

Plainly because I watch some basketball too and this is the team the I'm always rooting for every single season. Although my man Derrick Rose is always injured and I hate it :( But the regular season is back and they got the first win yesterday! 

Mean Girls

This movie is my spirit movie and Regina George is my spirit animal. Kidding! Started watching this movie since I was in 4th grade and I'm still not tired watching it over and over again. In fact, I memorize every single line from every scene (So fetch!).

Modern Shanghai

Modern Shanghai recently launched affordable sets of Shanghainese dishes that's perfect for families and friends. They combined their best-selling dishes that are under the "Shanghai Favorites". They also launched their "Tea Time Specials" that is available from 3-6pm on weekdays.



The Shanghai Favorites are available during weekdays until 5pm. Set 1 includes Shanghai Fried Noodles and Deep Fried Squid while Set 2 includes Sweet and Sour Chicken with Sauteed String Beans. These sets are good for 2-3 persons that's available for onlu 698php.


They also offer sets that are good for 3-4 persons with a price of 998php. Set 1 includes Sauteed Egg White w/ Seafood and Sauteed String Beans w/ Minced Pork and Chili, while Set 2 is a combination of Deep-Fried Squid and Sweet & Sour Chicken. Both are served with Shanghai Fried Noodles and everyone's favorite... The Xiao Long Bao. 




Their Tea Time Sets (292php/set) is good for two persons. It's composed of appetizing Dimsum and noodles that's perfect for afternoons.

Tea Set 1 has Steamed Buns w/ Preserved Egg Yolk Paste and Shanghai Fried Noodles.
Tea Set 2 contains of Pork Dumplings in Hot Chili Sauce and Shanghai Fried Noodles.

Modern Shanghai is all about good authentic Chinese food in a contemporary setting. You should try their award-winning Xiao Long Bao because we can't get enough of it, I swear!
