How I Lost Weight (Part 1)

For the past week, I already lost count on how many people have told me "You lost weight!" and answering their follow up questions, like "How did you do it?", over and over again made me think. Why not just write about here? So here's the first part of my journey to losing weight.

2015 was the year when I started to gain a number of lbs. Imagine, from 95 lbs, I exceeded to my 105 lb goal and reached 120??? I never thought that I would gain such amount of weight because I've been skinny my whole life despite my love for food and chocolates.

I've tried every way I can to shred at least 10 lbs but, wow, DIET IS HARD.
Especially when you don't have time to cool, prepare meals or work out...

I tried and tried all the ways I can to control portion and research about diet meals but having limited time because of work and events made it hard for me to accomplish my goal.

That's when I decided to try Delicious Diet

It works with 2 sets of program you can choose from. First is the High Protein Plan (2,400php/ week). This plan provides 1,800 calories per day- best for those who needs to gain weight or those who are active in sports and gym.

Next is the program that I'm currently having, The Weight Lost Plan. It provides 1,200 Calories per day, complete with breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner.

They deliver your meals from Monday til Friday in your chosen time slot, whenever your home. Just keep them refrigerated and heat each meal before consumption. Voila! What can be easier?

This is perfect for those who wants to save time while achieving their personal health and weight goals because diet doesn't mean that you have to deprive yourself from eating. It's about portion control, and thanks to Delicious Diet for making it a lot easier.

Update: I already lost 8 lbs, after a month of following the weight loss program,

My Journey To Having The Perfect Smile

I've always thought that I have the perfect set of  teeth. Knowing that my only concern is filling some of the tooth and just cleaning them, I never had the urge to visit the dentist because all I know is that I'm only  facing minor concerns and they are not that important BUT I WAS WRONG. One day, when I got an e-mail from Apostol Dental Cosmetic Center, I decided that it's time to check how wrong I was.

Apostol Dental Cosmetic Center is located at the 3rd floor of  Medical  Center Makati. Unlike any other clinics, they offer coffee, tea or wine to the patients and their company in their cozy waiting area. They also provide relaxing background music depends on their patient to give them the best experience while having a certain treatment done. I was really scared at first because I have a fear  with dentists since I was a kid but it was set aside when Dr. Apostol and her wife welcomed me with enthusiasm.

On the very same day, I had my teeth checked and discovered that I'm far from having the perfect set of teeth from how it looks in my selfies. Aside from filling and braces installation, I also need to undergo a minor surgery to remove some of my hopeless tooth and they offered me to have mini implants to i won't have to wear dentures. Yay! It's exciting yet terrifying haha. Hearing the words minor surgery, implants and braces were a lot for me to take in one sitting!

First, Dr. Apostol fixed the teeth that needs filling and scheduled my minor surgery for the week after. They were very hands on as his wife, Elaine, constantly texts me to remind me about the preparation that I need to do before the surgery day. Upon researching about the process, I got a bit scared because some says that there will be a lot of blood involved and it will hurt for few days. Some also told me that it's possible for me to have a fever the next day. and guess what my dentist told me beforehand? "You can do it. It wont hurt that much" What???

And when the day finally came... I questioned myself (post-surgery)... "Why did i half-trusted my dentist?" Because I honestly didn't feel a thing during the process and I'm on my normal self and energy-level the next day. That's when I knew that dentists are not that scary at all. Haha. The next process was getting my braces installed and right now (July 6th, 2017)  I'm on my second week of wearing it. More months to go!

I'm currently halfway through having the perfect teeth and I'm excited with the results! Thanks to Dr. Apostol and his wife for helping me achieve it. I have never been more impressed with a dental clinics before because I find them boring and scary, but this one is an exception! That's why dental visits are one of the few things that makes me giddy right now.

I will do another post about my journey to the perfect smile! :)

Staycation Series: The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences

Rainy season has arrived and sadly, it's time to slowly bid goodbye to summer- just summer. Why? Because well, isn't it the perfect season for staycations? To take well-deserved breaks in between stressful work weeks? Or to simply celebrate the weekend with friends or family? I believe that we all need a to sojourn within the city once in a while so I made a series of blog posts featuring the best and unique hotels that I highly recommend based on my experience, First, The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences.

The first time I heard about this place, I already figured that it's related to art. And the moment I arrived, I immediately fell in love with our suite- Barcelona and Montapamasse. It's named after, of course, the great Pablo Picasso's hometown and Montapamasse is a district in Paris that's also related to Picasso.
Our suites feature high-speed Wi-Fi connection, centralized airconditioning, iPod docking station, telephone, LCD TV with cable channels, kitchenette with refrigerator, electric stove, microwave and electric kettle, DVD player, rice cooked, fine china pieces, silverware, glassware, and iron. What else do we need that's note in here? This could pass as my house, to be honest.

One thing that makes this hotel live up to its name is that there's s an art gallery located on the second floor. It is operated by Altro Mondo Arte Contemporanea, their in house curator who cultivates concepts with different media and committed visual artist exhibits that vary every 2-3 months.

Also, it's Instagram worthy everywhere.

They have a wi-fi lounge where guests can use the computers with fast connection.

Pablo Bistro-Bar is their in-house restaurant that serves European Bistro Cuisine. The interiors reflect the traces of the old world grandeur or Europe with a touch of contemporary feels.

My favorite part is their breakfast buffet that serves cold cuts, cheese, yogurts to pair with your choice of dish.

The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences has 136 spacious rooms that meets both vintage and novelty where every experience transports us to a world where art and passion lives.

Whenever I go to malls, I always end up entering gadget stores not to shop right away, of course, but to simply test out gadgets like camera, phones and laptop. And when I heard about SM Gadgets Fair, I immediately imagined that it'll be a haven for all those who love cameras, music, mobile phones and family entertainment by showcasing some of our favorite brands like Sony, Fujifilm, Samsung, and GoPro. Add up the freebies and discounts, what more can you ask for right? Here's a little tour of what's in store during SM Gadgets Fair 2017 featuring my favorite booths.

I've been using Fujifilm X-A3 for about a almost year now so when I saw their booth, I got excited to check out their freebies and discounts!

Oppo is currently making a noise in the Android phone industry. Of course, they wont they us miss them out in one of the biggest gadget fairs this year.

Next is the Coloud Headphones that is perfect for the music enthusiasts.
They offered 15% discount during the fair!

Next, I must say, is a distinct part of Filipino culture. If you were to bring your lolas and lolos, this booth would be their tambayan- the Grand Videoke booth. Haha!

Another booth that's the center of attention is Samsung because they recently just launched their S8 phone and here, we got to try it out. I NEED THIS AND I AM IN LOVE.

Next stop is yet again, for photography enthusiasts. Who wouldn't know about SONY?

There are also brands that carries gadget accessories such as Remax chargers and Halo Mobile Clothing.

The event also featured the experts from the individual brands who shared tips for the mallgoers. One of the perks for dropping by! ;)

The Gadgets Fair 2017 is in partnership with Fujifilm, Sony, Go Pro, Oppo, Samsung, Altec Lansing, Coloud, Braven, Audio Technica, Xtreme Magic Sing, Grand Videoke, Magic Carry-Oke and Philippe Gadgets.

How I Prepare My Body For Beach Trips

$

Getting back to shape was one of my struggles since I started gaining weight two years ago. I love going to the beach and for years, I've never been conscious about wearing bikinis until the time that I gained 20lbs. The battle was real but as much as possible I tried to control my meals, exercise once in a while and ditch desserts. A year has passed and still, the attempt in losing few pounds continue as I always go to events and travel. Aside from trying to ignore the good food, my schedule couldn't keep up. So allotting time to work out at least four times a week became a struggle for me.

Unexpected beach trips started to become exciting to pestering just because I don't have time to gear up my body to wear bikinis. That's when I started to look for alternatives, or at least something that could help me look prepared for the beach.

The solution- a visit to myFlawless family! Here's a little secret that I will share to you.

At least 3 weeks before my trip, I make sure to have at least two sessions of Mesolipo Treatment- the process melts localized fat by injecting a concoction of active slimming ingredients into problem areas focusing on your major concern. In my case, I do it in my tummy. Of course, with the help of diet and exercise, results will be achieved in no time. The process was quick but it includes tiny needles so you should prepare for it if you're afraid of injections. Don't worry, they numb the area first with ice and gets it done for a few minutes! Possible bruises will appear but they vanish few days after.

A week before the beach trip, I pay another visit to do Shape and Sculpt Treatment- it uses ultrasound cavitation, radio frequency and interference frequency to blast localized fats and help tone the muscles. For me, this process is more difficult to get through merely because I get easily tickled but as always, they do it fast for like 30 minutes or less. Aside from losing an inch after the treatment, my belly became firmer.

So, there you go! With no fuss, I'm prepared to wear a bikini! Don't forget to still stick with your diet and exercise because these treatments works best along with it and results will be more visible- based on my experience! ;)

Summer In Taiwan

Yes, you read it right, I spent one summer in Taiwan- for a change. It was just few months back when I decided to book a plane ticket because I swear, Taiwan I has got to be one of the most inexpensive countries I've been to. Like a whole day would cost you approximately around $20-$30 for transportation and food, good food, I must say. We only spent 4 days this time, just enough for my second visit. So here's a quick photo diary recap of my recommendations if you only have limited time to explore Taipei.

The best area to book a hotel is Ximen Station. or Ximending. It's like South Korea's Myeongdong, very accessible and there's a lot of stores and restaurants in every corner.

Jiufen Old Street is my favorite because aside from being photo-worthy, it's also one of the best places to binge eat their best street food. You can take a day trip here along with Yeh Liu Geopark and Shifen Old Street through KKDay. You can read about this tour here.

It's my second time in Taipei but Chiang Kai Shek is too beautiful to not visit another time around. It's also accessible with MRT so a quick visit wouldn't be a waste of time.

70% of my time in this city is spent with food so through KKDay, we booked a set meal where they served us the best ones - including milk tea and Xiao Long Bao!

Another thing that you should not miss while you're here is Taipei 101. Go all the way to 89th floor for a 360 degree view of Taipei, You can also book your discounted ticket here.

And if you're done exploring the city, a quick nature getaway would be perfect. For just 100TWD you can ride the Maokong Gondola that reaches up to 1000 feet. Another tip, you have a choice to ride the crystal cabin! And while you're within the area, you can also do a quick visit to Taipei Zoo.

There's a lot more to explore in Taipei and you can always end each day at the night markets. My top recommendations that are just around the city are Raohe and Shilin Night Market.

So, there you go! My quick list of the must-go places that you can consider next time you visit Taiwan. You can also visit www.kkday.com, it's a platform that I use whenever I organize an upcoming trip to anywhere because aside from having less fuss, I also get great deals and discounts!

Today I Woke Up Feeling Heavy

$

0

It's been a while since I last wrote about something personal.
No scratch that.
It's been a while since I last wrote something on this blog.
How do I start this? I don't know anymore.

Ready. I'm not ready.
What is this blog?

Taking Anaïs Nin's words:
"This diary is my kief, hashish, and opium pipe. This is my drug and my vice."

I was once so inspired to write something or anything every single day. What happened? Now I don't know what this platform is all about anymore. My system's been caught up with taking so much good photos and telling stories through filters that I forgot about the prime reason why I started this blog - I love to write. If you're someone whom I know since Multiply era, you know that I love to put every experience to words.

And today, I woke up feeling entirely heavy, and empty. Not that I'm dispirited or something, I love what I do and the supportive people around me.

Maybe it's because I honestly don't know how people see me anymore. Why are they following me? In this society that now orbits around filters and feed, I forgot about who I am. I'm a blogger. From putting up a content everyday... Now I, myself wouldn't even bother visiting my own blog because it's full of meaningless content that's put up for the sake of having something in it.

Now let this be my starting point to writing more articles on this platform. In a month, I'll be launching my new blog and I want you to become part of it. What do you want me to write about? Something personal or related to fashion and travel? The songs that I listen to (like the good old days)? Or my current favorites? Wow, there's so much to write about. I missed blogging.

(I want to hear your thoughts and let me write in the spirit of my pre-Instagram self.)

Xx,

Katt

Villas To Stay in Bali

$

Bali isn’t that huge but deciding where to stay may be one of the hardest part in planning your trip to the island of the gods. As a second timer, I highly suggest staying in a villa to make the most of that much needed rest and relaxation in Bali. Here are my top three recommendations for those who are looking for quality spaces that will really make you feel like you’re on your the finest escape.

Located in Seminyak, Royal Samaja Villas has a typical Balinese design that’s mixed with modern feels. Each villa has furniture and artworks that are selected to honour Bali’s creative heritage. The property is a boutique commune comprising just 10 luxury villas in the Oberoi district, within easy walking distance to Seminyak Square.
The en-suite bathtub is surrounded by a full-length picture window overlooking the pool for a seamless bathing effect, very relaxing.

What I liked bout Royal Samaja Villas is that it's located in Seminyak, my favorite area in Bali, there are only ten villas which makes you feel more peaceful and private and the high speed wi-fi of course.

Next is Abia Villas, an epitome of tropical sophistication. This boutique haven has a contemporary Balinese design that perfectly suits the needs of different types of travelers. Family can appreciate the home comfort that’s located in Legian- few minute walk away from the famed sunset beach.

Last but not the least and also my favorite, The Seiryu. Known as the Elegant House of Dragon in Bali, this Japanese-inspired villa mixed with refined luxury and local hospitality is also located in Seminyak.
It's located near modern restaurants, clubs, cafes, spas, and art galleries.
Me and my friends fell in love with this place not because of its spacious interiors but also because of its features. Upon entering the villa, you'll have everything you need. Each villa is decorated with modern conveniences including private swimming pools, a plasma TV, a DVD player, as well as high-speed Internet access.

So, there you go! My top three suggestions for those who are looking for villas to stay in Bali.

8 Reasons Why I Keep Coming Back To Bali, Indonesia

$
0
0

People always ask me “Why are you always in Bali?”, “What do you do there?”, “Do you have a house in Bali?” “Are you migrating?”. Well, nope. I simply go there for vacation. It’s just that I believe that if you love something, go back for it. And if you can, go back to it every time you get the chance.

Bali is located in Indonesia, it’s not like the other countries I’ve been to like Korea, Singapore or Hong Kong where everything seems to be easy like commuting or going around the city. Most especially, it’s like the complete opposite of Jakarta. (Indonesia’s capital) So here we go, after three return trips to Bali I made a list about why I keep on coming back.

It’s basically cheap from food to transportation, the goods and even surf lessons! One meal is ranging from 35,000 IDR (120php) to 70,000 IDR (250php). Bottled water costs 5,000 IDR (17php). For transportation, you can even rent a car with driver for 350,000 IDR (1,200php) or 10 hours that’s already good for your whole group.

 It’s very laidback.
I really don’t know but whenever I’m in Bali, I tend to naturally distress just by being there. Maybe it's the ocean and its big a** waves or maybe the people around?

This island never runs out of wonderful sceneries.
I’ve been there three times and there’s still a lot left to explore. I love Uluwatu, Nusa Dua and Ubud.

 The chill and party places.
My favorites are La Plancha, Single Fin, Motel Mexicola and La Favela.

Sunsets.
Specially in Kuta and Tanah Lot.

 Their richness in culture.
I think this is one of the greatest factor why Bali is beautiful, you can see how they’re very well of when it comes to culture and religion. It's one thing that they're really proud of.

Meditation by nature itself.
From one place or another, you'll for sure find yourself gratifying with surroundings.

Bintang and Nasi Goreng.
Need I say more? Of course you won’t keep on coming back to a place where you hate the food.

There you go! I made this one short, simple and random. I just made this list for five minutes and put together what came first in my mind. :)

What's your favorite destination? #GoForIt and share the place you love! :)

Baguio Summer Ender Part 1

$

It was my fifth time in Baguio when I visited this May which is kind of different with the rest of my visits because this time, I got an itinerary prepared unlike my usual trips that revolves roughly with just chilling in the cabin playing cards, sipping hot chocolate and perhaps making the most out of the strawberry tahos i see on the road. So let me start off with Azalea Residences.

We arrived in Azalea at around 12 noon, just in time for lunch at Tradisyon. With a mix of some good Filipino and International viands on the menu- forget about diet.

Whenever I look for hotels, the bed and bathroom are my number one priorities. Guess what, Azalea topped them! Can you just picture staying in Baguio with 18 degrees and your bed is too inviting... How did I manage to get up every morning? I didn’t know either Haha.

Right after our siesta, we went out for our much need afternoon coffee fix. Cafe Yagam is a homey coffee shop with the ambiance of family home, accentuated with the vintage decorations, paintings and fireplace.

Since we’re in Baguio, the eminent ukay spot in the Philippines, we were assigned to do an ootd challenge wearing thrift-items and here’s what Tracy and I came up with. We incorporated our outfits with the cold weather of Baguio that’s adequate enough to pair a sweater with shorts or skirt.

We quite had a long second day, starting off with Bell Tower. It’s a Taoist Temple located at the border of Baguio and Benguet.

Next stop is the Ben Cab Museum- it's been my second time here but it's just at this moment that i appreciated every piece- my favorite is the one on the left. They have a total of nine galleries full of paintings, sculptures, art installations, drawings and a lot more.

So, that's it for the first half of my Baguio post! Watch out for the next one this weekend x

The Other Side Of Boracay

I've been to Boracay six times already and until now, I still never get tired of its powdery white sands, turquoise waters and beautiful sunsets. Boracay has been known as an island that's far yet too close to Manila's crowd. I always go there during the crowded Labor Day Week with my friends but sometimes we tend to forget to appreciate it simply as a beautiful island. Last week, I got a chance to experience Boracay in another point of view.

Let me start off with Skyjet. It's my first time to fly with this airline and for me, it's the fastest way to Caticlan- it only took us 35 quick minutes from Manila. Skyjet also flies to Busuanga, Balesin and Basco with a free baggage check in allocation of 10 kilos, complimentary snacks  and my favorite, comfortable legroom!

Playing captain with @chaocampoo haha!

To book flights and know more about Skyjet, visit www.flyskyjetair.com.

Where we stayed:
Rieseling Boracay Beach Resort

Rieseling is located in Bulabog beach, away from the usual Boracay scene where the crowd is. I love how this resort is in the island but in a different way- promoting both comfort and privacy. This beachfront resort is dynamically designed to reflect our heritage.

View from my room.
"Home away from home."is what this resort is all about because of its relaxing ambience adding up Bolabog Beach's majestic view right in front of you anytime of the day.

Don't worry if you miss the noise and crowd because White Beach is just few minute-walk away. So wether you're traveling with friends or family, Rieseling Boracay Beach Resort offers something for everyone with ample opportunities for fun, romance and adventure.

Bikini from @EightMermaid
Bikini from @BeyondTheBeachPH

One of the remarkable experiences that I've recently had in Boracay is learning to swim like a mermaid. All thanks to Philippine Mermaid Swimming Academy

After the tiring yet fun afternoon, we headed to Mandala Spa and Resort Villas for some well-deserved relaxation. The only spa destination in Boracay offers romantic spa holidays and award-winning spa therapies.

It is recognized globally as one of Asia's finest and eco-friendly spa resorts because of their signature spa treatments for lasting holistic wellness including Watsu therapy that delivers one to the deepest state of relaxed consciousness with healing benefits mind, emotion, physically as well as spiritual.

Lastly, mouth watering dishes were served to us at Villa Contessa before I left the island for Hong Kong. I love how this place is overlooking Bolabog Beach.

So there goes my short Boracay trip last week! It was so far my favorite experience in the island :)

My Take On Power Dressing

What is power dressing? For me, it's a woman's way of dressing up to show authority and independence. Over the years, power dressing has developed from menswear-inspired to something that has a feminine touch in it. This way of dressing up isn't just about fashion and style but it also boosts a woman's confidence to suppress what's ahead of her.

Here are some examples on how you could strut power dressing

What's The Best Move?

$

Isn't it the best feeling whenever we meet someone who knocks us off our feet, or makes our spine shiver whenever they utter an endearing line? Well of course, nothing beats the power of words because it's the first step to catch someones interest. I've been in a relationship with the same person for the longest time yet it still makes me recall sometimes how everything started.

It's kind of cliche but we began as high school crushes. Meet Daim, he's my boyfriend since sophomore high school, and trust me, the first time i met him is such an eye roller. He's one of those annoying guys in class and I'm on the side of the serious ones. But when sophomore year came, he became  one of my closest friends and realized that he's more than just an infuriating guy- he is also a lead actor in our annual play, vocalist in our school band, a varsity, lead dancer in all our batch's performances and a math genius (kind of). And for all those, he finally became my crush.

How did i make a move? Of course, show beyond doubt that you have the same interest. He's in a band so i started listening to Fall Out Boy. He's a lead actor in our play, so i took a role where i can share a scene with him. He's a varsity, i started watching NBA. He's a dancer, so i tried to learn at least. He loves math, so i showed him how much i hate it and suck at it. Mean Girls style haha.

And guess what? Everything worked because here we are on our 9th year. It has been a bumpy ride but the story about how we started will always be my favorite. I'm telling you, confidence is the best way to show your move.

When In London

It was just through a Whatsapp message when my friend Vina invited me to plan a Eurotrip... in two months. First I thought it was a joke because... Europe? In two months? I haven't even stepped out of Asia yet so there's just a tiny chance that I'll have my visa approved. But I was wrong, all thanks to JTB Philippines for smoothly processing our visas from the very first step (blogging about this soon), WE GOT APPROVED! This it it! Our Eurotrip adventure starts... in LONDON!

I've always dreamt about visiting this city someday and being in a plane landing to London... It felt surreal. I'm finally here!!! We explored London for 9 days and here are my top favorites.

Buckingham Palace

As an avid fan of "The Crown" and everything related to Queen Elizabeth, visiting the palace was on top of the list. We even got to witness the "Changing of the Guard" ceremony.

The walking tour is a part of the London Sightseeing Bus Pass that we booked here.

London Eye and Big Ben

Well of course, these are really the top spots for London starters but we weren't lucky to see Big Ben because it's currently under renovation- a reason to go back! Haha. But, we get to ride the London Eye so a 360 degree view of the city didn't hurt at all. Book your London Eye ticket here.

Westminster Abbey
Simple, this is where Queen Elizabeth held her coronation.

. Tower Bridge... That I thought was the London Bridge... HAHA

Hyde Park

Enjoyed roaming around this park the whole afternoon!

Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Roman Bath
Three of the most historical places to visit in England. Book this day trip here.

Oxford Street

We're here almost every night to shop! Primark and Topshop are our favorites. Haha.

Borough Market

If you love food. This place is for you.

Harry Potter Studio

MY CHILDHOOD IS COMPLETE.

There's so much more to explore in London and planning each day's itinerary was no joke! Well not for us when discovered that Klookalso offers London tours and activities! Everything went easy peasy after that. :)

A New Tempura Twist

I grew up from a family who loves Japanese food, and as far as I can remember I was introduced to sushi, katsu and tempura when I was just in preschool. Tokyo Tokyo is one of the most distinct restaurants that I have in memory as a child and because I love shrimps, I always order Tempura-- until today. I’m not even kidding. Haha.

This simple, yet delectable dish that consists of your favorite seafood, is battered and fried to perfection making it a delicious snack or viand. (I’m craving while writing this!!) But wait...there’s more! Tokyo Tokyo doesn't just love to keep up with its tradition of making high-quality, delicious and reachable Japanese food to Filipinos, they also love to recreate dishes with colorful and exhilarating twists.

One of it is the new Red Togarashi Tempura! A spicier variant of the Classic Prawn Tempura that’s cooked to perfection in its bright red breading sprinkled with togarashi- a distinct blend of Japanese chili peppers. What a unique and thrilling take on tempura especially for someone who loves anything spicy- like me! :)

Spice things up with the new Red Togarashi Tempura at Tokyo Tokyo for only Php 175! This meal comes with 3 pieces of  tempura, vegetable misono, tempura sauce, and unlimited rice (for dine-in customers only) to fill your tummy with a complete Japanese meal. You can also order 4-piece and 6-piece tempura platters with any combination of classic and red tempura!
Time to run to the nearest Tokyo Tokyo! I’m seriously craving!
