Afternoon Shopping With Call It Spring

Few weeks back, me and my fellow bloggers visited Call It Spring down South in Alabang Town Center. I've been a huge supporter of this brand ever since so I went enthusiastic when we got invited to shop and have an afternoon sale party with several readers and shoppers as well.


I arrived a little bit early so I got a chance to share my top 3 favorite pairs through Facebook live which are: this nude basic wedge, white sneakers and the Gigi and Kendall inspired booties in Tan.



I mean, look at all those shoes!! 


I spent the afternoon with few of my closest blogger friends- Duff, Cha and Janeena.


Everyone went crazy when we announced that the first 30 shoppers gets a 500 peso shopping GC.

2016: Let The Universe Rush In

They say if you love something, you have to keep coming back and from then you’ll figure out if the love is fading or if it’s growing even more. Then ask yourself, are you contented? Or are you just trying to find happiness out of it when it has nothing good to compromise?

This year, I have learned to go back not just to people, but also to places and feelings. By doing so, I became sturdier and wiser to know what desires to be driven away and what must stay. 


I fell in love with places, like Bali, where I came back thrice this year just to figure out that until now, I’d still love to come back. And for the certain people whom I assumed have left before, I then figured out that they just needed a break, like how I needed that break.

I also made tons of mistakes where I am proud and I am not ashamed of obliging those because for me, it became a huge part of my growth as a person and to be frank, they became the core of my year – “more mistakes, more lessons learned”

2016 has been pretty bumpy and fun at the same time. I became unhealthy, skipped gym, ate as much junk as I want, made a lot of unwise decisions, traveled until I bled my bank account, but if you’ll ask me if I regret anything? Nope, not a tiny guilt from it. I’m actually fulfilled with all the wrong decisions that I made for guess what? Because of them, I knew the right ones.

So don’t be scared. Make as much mistakes as you can while you’re still young because trust me, you’ll thank yourself later since you finally know how to extricate the decisions that will eventually fail or ultimately work.

As long as it makes you happy, do it and let the universe take you to where you truly belong.

Parque Espana Staycation (Giveaway)

If you know me too well, or even a bit, for sure you'll know that I'm not a city girl. It's not that I hate it but I just find peace more and could think well when I'm away, at the beach or somewhere serene where I can listen to my playlists, read a book or binge watch my favorite series in between work.



Just recently, I spent my holidays in Parque Espana situated in Alabang. I'm living in South and for me, this is the most peaceful expanse in the Metro. It's a place that is enthused by the European Summer with warmth of tropical generosity.


Each suite has a colorful, tranquil and spacious interior that will make you feel like home. 





I love how laidback it is to the point that they have comprehensive kitchen function- stove, microwave, refrigerator, cooking and dining utensils. You can just take your groceries in and cook your food! One greater thing about this place is that they have free shuttle services to and from Alabang Town Center and Filinvest Mall.





The elements of every corner remind me of my Moroccan dream. They also have work desks and dining table, perfect for family and friends.




You can also spend quite afternoons at the roofdeck pool. 



Also located at the roofdeck is their house restaurant, Bistro Del Cielo. I highly recommend their lasagna and paella! It was soooo good.

The interiors of the restaurant is very homey with a touch of Spanish decoration.



By far this is one of the hotels that I vastly recommend whether you just want to get away from the city for a little while or you are coming home.  Because of that, I also want you to experience Parque Espana so I'm giving away an overnight stay! All you have to do is:

The Girl

“The Girl”- what comes to your mind when you hear it? Do you think about all sorts of girly stuff – like getting glammed up, glittery stilettos and red lipstick? Well of course, those are already fundamental elements of being a girl literally and symbolically. Now let me tell you my own point of view of “The Girl”.

For me, being “The Girl” means being tough, adventurous and liberated. A woman who is resilient enough to shun the negativity around her, never letting anyone steal her sparkle. She’s optimistic and she just laughs away the problems that come her way.

What's The Best Move?

Isn't it the best feeling whenever we meet someone who knocks us off our feet, or makes our spine shiver whenever they utter an endearing line? Well of course, nothing beats the power of words because it's the first step to catch someones interest. I've been in a relationship with the same person for the longest time yet it still makes me recall sometimes how everything started.


It's kind of cliche but we began as high school crushes. Meet Daim, he's my boyfriend since sophomore high school, and trust me, the first time i met him is such an eye roller. He's one of those annoying guys in class and I'm on the side of the serious ones. But when sophomore year came, he became  one of my closest friends and realized that he's more than just an infuriating guy- he is also a lead actor in our annual play, vocalist in our school band, a varsity, lead dancer in all our batch's performances and a math genius (kind of). And for all those, he finally became my crush.


How did i make a move? Of course, show beyond doubt that you have the same interest. He's in a band so i started listening to Fall Out Boy. He's a lead actor in our play, so i took a role where i can share a scene with him. He's a varsity, i started watching NBA. He's a dancer, so i tried to learn at least. He loves math, so i showed him how much i hate it and suck at it. Mean Girls style haha.


And guess what? Everything worked because here we are on our 9th year. It has been a bumpy ride but the story about how we started will always be my favorite. I'm telling you, confidence is the best way to show your move.

Where To Stay In Taipei?

Last February, I visited Taiwan with my friends for the first time. It was a very unprompted trip that was booked roughly a month before that's why planning our itinerary, outfits and place to stay at was all a flash. Thankfully, itinerary was a no-brainer since Taiwan has a lot to offer (will write about it on my next post) while for the accommodation, we relied with AirBnB because we're going as a group.


While searching for the finest places to stay at, I found this very arsty bed and breakfast that's very Instagram worthy in all corners. This place is ideal for friends and family plus it's reasonably priced compared to hotels if you are on a budget. Here's a quick tour!

If there's one collaboration that should have happened years ago, it's the Clinique x Crayola collection. I mean, whose kid spirit/ makeup addict-self wouldn't love these cute packaging of the iconic chubby sticks? These packaging made me reminisce my childhood days because I used to hoard huge Crayola boxes and coloring books. Who would've thought that today I'm going to use it to color my face? Thanks to Clinique!




Just recently, I went to the launch of Clinique x Crayola Collection in UP Town Center featuring the moisturizing lip balms and eye shadows. The colors of these gorgeously creamy and moisturizing chubby sticks come in a range of red, pink, mauve with names like “Wild Strawberry”, "Mango Tango" and “Pink Sherbet”- they sound delicious, right? Plus, they are enriched with Shea Butter.

The Bistrot- Bali

When it comes to eating out, I’ve always been that person who goes for a restaurant with pasta or burgers then I’m good. Last April, through my second time in Bali, I was invited byThe Bistrotfor lunch. Upon researching the place, I got really pressured on what to wear because it’s not just an archetypal restaurant that you could see in the streets of Bali- but it’s along the streets of Bali anyhow. This restaurant and bar has been conceptualized and dotingly put together by the Morrocan and Belgian team of Zohra and Blaise.


As I entered the place, it seemed like I’m in a different place far from Bali. They are so lucky to have one of these places in the locale because it is so picturesque; the place is really pleasing to the eye. Every furniture is hand-picked by its particular owner who also loves collecting distinctive vintage pieces that they display.



Time to eat! We ordered few of their best sellers and I must say that The Bistrot’s menu is mouth watering. From steaks, burgers, seafood up to their Sangria, wouldn’t mind spending happy hour in this place.



I won't talk much now but let me show you the photos me and my friends took in this lovely place. We never wanted to leave. From the ambiance, food, drinks and serving- rating this 5-star!

Baguio Summer Ender Part 1

It was my fifth time in Baguio when I visited this May which is kind of different with the rest of my visits because this time, I got an itinerary prepared unlike my usual trips that revolves roughly with just chilling in the cabin playing cards, sipping hot chocolate and perhaps making the most out of the strawberry tahos i see on the road. So let me start off with Azalea Residences.

We arrived in Azalea at around 12 noon, just in time for lunch at Tradisyon. With a mix of some good Filipino and International viands on the menu- forget about diet.


Whenever I look for hotels, the bed and bathroom are my number one priorities. Guess what, Azalea topped them! Can you just picture staying in Baguio with 18 degrees and your bed is too inviting... How did I manage to get up every morning? I didn’t know either Haha.

Right after our siesta, we went out for our much need afternoon coffee fix. Cafe Yagam is a homey coffee shop with the ambiance of family home, accentuated with the vintage decorations, paintings and fireplace.

Since we’re in Baguio, the eminent ukay spot in the Philippines, we were assigned to do an ootd challenge wearing thrift-items and here’s what Tracy and I came up with. We incorporated our outfits with the cold weather of Baguio that’s adequate enough to pair a sweater with shorts or skirt.


We quite had a long second day, starting off with Bell Tower. It’s a Taoist Temple located at the border of Baguio and Benguet.




Next stop is the Ben Cab Museum- it's been my second time here but it's just at this moment that i appreciated every piece- my favorite is the one on the left. They have a total of nine galleries full of paintings, sculptures, art installations, drawings and a lot more.

Beach Ready with Flawless

If you're following me on Instagram you will notice that since 2013, going to the beach and wearing bikinis are my favorite thing to do... until I gained 20 freaking pounds last year and maillots became my best friend. I don't know what happened, i love food and I've been really eating a lot ever since then I realized- AGING. Oh dear, I forgot I'm 23.


If you noticed my photos (@kattvaldez) from early this year, I wear one-piece more that bikinis because I'm hiding my size 28 tummy (eek!). Starting then, booked beach trips became my motivation and pressure. I started with portion diet and minimal workouts and thankfully last May, I already lost 8 lbs. Summer will forever be in my vocabulary that's why my beach trips doesn't end in May. Imagine the pressure when I thought layering season is on but i still have Palawan, Bali and Boracay lined up for June and July? I needed help and thankfully FLAWLESS was there to rescue me. First, visited their website to check their services.


The Shape and Sculpt service was then recommended to me. It's one of their services that uses ultrasound cavitation, radio frequency and interference frequency to blast localized fats and tone the muscles. You can just focus on one part of your body that you need to tone and of course, I had the process done in my tummy.


I visited their SM Makati branch because it's the nearest one from my house. I love how the staff are very accommodating to their clients and there's no fuss in waiting. Right when you enter the clinic, you'll see a wide range of products. I use the toner from the oil-control line and the nano whitening supplement. I don't have the actual photos of the process done to me but I took note of the changes. After the shape and sculpt session, I lost an inch measuring 27 to 26. 



Here are some photos after getting the process done. It didn't only help in minimizing the size, they also toned my "abs" so I could look better in these two-piece bikinis! I'm very much satisfied and will definitely book more sessions. 8 Reasons Why I Keep Coming Back To Bali, Indonesia

People always ask me “Why are you always in Bali?”, “What do you do there?”, “Do you have a house in Bali?” “Are you migrating?”. Well, nope. I simply go there for vacation. It’s just that I believe that if you love something, go back for it. And if you can, go back to it every time you get the chance.


Bali is located in Indonesia, it’s not like the other countries I’ve been to like Korea, Singapore or Hong Kong where everything seems to be easy like commuting or going around the city. Most especially, it’s like the complete opposite of Jakarta. (Indonesia’s capital) So here we go, after three return trips to Bali I made a list about why I keep on coming back.





It’s basically cheap from food to transportation, the goods and even surf lessons! One meal is ranging from 35,000 IDR (120php) to 70,000 IDR (250php). Bottled water costs 5,000 IDR (17php). For transportation, you can even rent a car with driver for 350,000 IDR (1,200php) or 10 hours that’s already good for your whole group.


 It’s very laidback. 
I really don’t know but whenever I’m in Bali, I tend to naturally distress just by being there. Maybe it's the ocean and its big a** waves or maybe the people around?




 This island never runs out of wonderful sceneries. 
I’ve been there three times and there’s still a lot left to explore. I love Uluwatu, Nusa Dua and Ubud.




 The chill and party places.
 My favorites are La Plancha, Single Fin, Motel Mexicola and La Favela.




Sunsets.
Specially in Kuta and Tanah Lot.



 Their richness in culture.
 I think this is one of the greatest factor why Bali is beautiful, you can see how they’re very well of when it comes to culture and religion. It's one thing that they're really proud of.



Meditation by nature itself.
From one place or another, you'll for sure find yourself gratifying with surroundings.


Bintang and Nasi Goreng. 
Need I say more? Of course you won’t keep on coming back to a place where you hate the food. 


There you go! I made this one short, simple and random. I just made this list for five minutes and put together what came first in my mind. :)

Photodiary: Taipei, Taiwan

Last February, I visited Taiwan for the first time with few of my closest friends, it has got to be one of the most memorable trips I've ever been to not only for the company who I'm with but also because of  these three things that I love about this city: night markets, cheap food and you'll see a mix of city and nature sceneries around. Sharing with you some of the photos I have collected during the trip and the places that you must visit by the end of this post.














If you're planning to go to Taiwan, here are my recommendations about where to go:
1. Ximending Station for shopping and Hot Star Chicken!
2. Elephant Mountain (though it's a bit of a workout, the view is worth it!)
3. Fujin Street for hipster cafes
4. Taipei 101, of course.
5. Jiufen to see the real life Spirited Away game.
6. Raohe Night Market (THE BEST FOR STREET FOOD)
7. Yeh Liu Geopark
8. Addiction Aquatic Development (for some real seafood gaming)

My First Hot Air Balloon Ride

As a kid, I have always thought that riding a hot air balloon only exists in fiction. Like who could fly a balloon and basket thousands of feet up in the sky? Little did I know I was wrong, it really does exist and this time last week, I’m on the level of the clouds, inside that basket getting soared by a… balloon. It felt unreal. The kid in me is all giddy and happy like the characters that I’ve read in pre-school story books.

Bohol Escape: Henann Resort

The first time I visited Bohol was early last year, where I instantaneously fell in love with the island but had no chance to explore it further because of our tight itinerary. So, this year, I made sure that Panglao Island would be on top of the list for my 2017 travels. Around last February, Cha and I was invited by Henann to experience the finest of Bohol and I tell you, that trip was the perfect head start for the year ahead.



Henann Resort is one of the best luxury resorts in the island. Located at Alona Beach in Panglao, this place is perfect for anyone who wants to take a break away from the tiring city. Surrounded with the most relaxing hues- greens and blues, it’s very easy to destress even by just observing the surroundings or lounging by the pool.





The rooms are designed with modern Asian-inspired interiors and filled with state-of-the-art features. Some have private pool access while some on the top floors have majestic views from the balcony. Nevertheless, the rooms itself already gives the premium experience with their interiors and comforts.






Not only that you’ll get to indulge with their optimum service, hotel features, white sand and pristine crystal clear waters, but you can also relish with the best food selections. There are three restaurants inside Henann that has different variations- fine and casual dining to buffet dinners and there are also pool bars situated in each massive swimming pools in the facility.





I must say that this is one of the best places that I have visited in the Philippines aligned with my favorites, Palawan and Boracay. I will definitely go back in Bohol to try scuba diving, visit more islands and stay in Henann yet again.

Planning For Picnics

I love adventures and I always have this itch to go to places where I'm not and simply leave the usual routine. No matter how big or small it is, Avon has become part of our childhood or teenage years. In my case, the clear mascara and lip & cheek tint were my best friends in high school. So just last week, I got excited when Avon invited me to take part in one of their biggest events, "Avon City," featuring their bestselling products in fun and interactive booths.


Avon Intimate Apparel "Loungerie"


This booth was fun and a lifesaver, I must say! Thanks to the Avon girls, I finally learned how to get my right bra size because all this time I got it all wrong. We also got a free bra after getting the right fit.
  
Avon Fragrance "Be Spritz"
Everybody has their own personality and what's a more fun way to manifest it but through our scent of choice. Avon has a wide selection for their "Be Spritz" fragrance and after trying it all out, I found "Be Stylish" as my perfect match!

My mom is the best example on how good Skin So Soft Hand & Body Lotion is because it has been her "holy grail" since I don't know when. Going through all the booths at the event was fun! Not only because I got a bunch of freebies, I also learned a lot about the brand. Avon isn't just a brochure that I saw my mom browsing since I was a kid. It's a lot more. Its purpose is to create a world with more empowered women. We just don't see women selling Avon products to reach their dreams, but in a way, they also help build another woman's dream -- in business and sisterhood. A passion with a purpose is what the world needs nowadays and I'm so glad that Avon's mission is continuing to flourish with over six million women all over the world.

Keeping My Summer Cool

Everyone knows that Summer is my favorite season. Even though all throughout the year you can see me in the beaches around the Philippines, I must say that it's still way warmer during summer and I still need to prepare myself for that- and it starts with my head. You know, when you keep your head cool, the rest will follow.






Because we live in a tropical country,  Filipinos tend to be more prone of having dandruff. The heat and humidity makes it conducive for the microorganisms to grown and because of heat, the natural oil we produce on the scalp tends to spread and be absorbed by our hair making it greasy.
